Mystery of soy sauce
What does Japan's beloved soy sauce have in it? Long-term brewing of soya, wheat, water, salt and koji - i.e. fermented rice - results in a decoction with a characteristic colour and aroma.
Its uniqueness lies in the balanced combination of all five tastes - salty, sweet, sour, bitter and umami. How is that possible? Find out by yourself as you try the delicious soy sauce noodles based on OYAKATA Soy Sauce Ramen!
- 1 package of OYAKATA Soy Sauce Ramen
- 1 tablespoon of mun mushrooms
- 1 tablespoon of mung bean sprouts
- 1 small white onion
- 1 garlic clove
- 1 egg
- handful of chives
Cook the hard-boiled egg. Pour boiling water over the mun mushrooms and leave to soak for about 5 minutes. In the meantime, chop finely the peeled onion, garlic and chives.
Follow the instructions on the package and prepare the OYAKATA Soy Sauce Ramen.
Fry onion, garlic, mun mushrooms and sprouts in a hot frying pan.
When the onion is lightly fried (after about 2 minutes), remove the pan from the heat and add all the ingredients to the noodles.
Season to taste with soy sauce and chilli.
Add the hard-boiled egg cut in half and decorate with chopped chives.
